Nick Hausman

Voice/Violin

Nick Hausman's impressive journey in music and academia is a testament to his dedication and passion. Currently pursuing an M.M. in Voice Performance at Southern Methodist University's Meadows School of the Arts, with an expected graduation year of 2025, Nicholas has already amassed a considerable amount of experience both as a performer and an educator.

His undergraduate studies were completed at the State University of New York at Potsdam's Crane School of Music, where he earned a B.M. in Vocal Performance in May 2023. Throughout his time there, Nicholas was consistently recognized for his excellence, making the President’s List from Fall 2019 to Spring 2023, and developing a secondary emphasis in violin.

Nick has studied under notable instructors, including Clifton Forbis and Michael Scarola at the Meadows School of the Arts, and Colleen Skull and Liesl Schonberger Doty at the Crane School of Music. His roles as a teaching assistant and his participation in vocal pedagogy courses demonstrate his commitment to sharing his knowledge with others.

His performance resume spans church choirs, opera, choirs, orchestras, and solo recitals, showcasing his versatility as a tenor and violinist. Notably, he has performed in operas such as "The Enchanted Pig," "Zàzà," "Dido and Aeneas," and "Le nozze di Figaro," and participated in esteemed ensembles like the Meadows Chamber Singers and the Crane Symphony Orchestra.

Beyond the stage, Nick has held significant leadership positions, such as President of the Student Government Association at SUNY Potsdam and External Liaison for the Meadows Graduate Council. His work experience includes roles at McDonald's and the Community Performance Series, indicating a strong work ethic and versatility in his professional endeavors.

Nick's journey is marked by a blend of artistic talent, leadership, and a commitment to education, making him a distinguished figure in his field.
