
Meige Yang
Flute & Piano
Meige Yang is a flutist and educator currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Flute Performance at the University of North Texas College of Music, where she also serves as a Teaching Fellow.
She began her musical training at the Middle School Affiliated with the Central Conservatory of Music and later earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the China Conservatory of Music. During her graduate studies, she served as a teaching assistant, received the university’s top scholarship, and was recognized as an Outstanding Graduate. Her academic and teaching experience has given her a strong foundation in working with developing musicians while maintaining a high level of professional performance training.
As an educator, Yang combines strong technical instruction with an emphasis on tone development, musical expression, and effective practice habits. She works to help students build confidence, establish solid fundamentals, and develop greater independence as musicians. Her experience as both a Teaching Fellow and teaching assistant allows her to bring a thoughtful and structured approach to students at different stages of their musical development.
Yang has received numerous honors in international flute competitions, including First Prize at the Singapore International Flute Festival, First Prize in the Flute Division of the Jean Sibelius International Music Competition, and First Prize in the Performer Category at the 3rd International Flute Festival & Competition in Seoul, South Korea. She has also received awards from the Nanning International Flute Competition and the China Conservatory of Music Concerto Competition.
