
Hyeonjin Kim
Cello & Piano
Hyeonjin Kim is a cellist and educator currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of North Texas, where she studies on a full scholarship, serves as a Research Assistant, and performs as a member of the Moore Trio.
She holds a Master’s degree from Sookmyung Women’s University and a Bachelor’s degree from Sejong University, where she graduated with honors, received multiple scholarships, and served as principal cellist. During her undergraduate studies, she also studied piano performance, providing her with a strong foundation in both cello and piano. She has also served as principal cellist of the Chicago Summer Orchestra.
As an educator, Kim has extensive experience teaching cello, piano, strings, and orchestra in a variety of settings. She has served as an instructor with the Seocho Cultural Foundation and as a strings educator in elementary and middle schools throughout the Seoul and Gyeonggi region. Her teaching emphasizes strong technical foundations, effective practice habits, musical expression, and helping students develop confidence and steady progress in their musical studies.
Her artistry has been recognized through grants from the Gyeonggi, Suwon, and Hwaseong Cultural Foundations, and she has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician in a variety of performance settings. Her combined background in performance and education allows her to bring both professional musicianship and thoughtful, student centered instruction to her cello and piano students.
