
Hyeonjin Kim
Cello
Hyeonjin Kim is a cellist in the Doctor of Musical Arts program at the University of North Texas, where she studies on a full scholarship, serves as a Research Assistant, and performs as a member of the Moore Trio.
She holds a Master's degree from Sookmyung Women's University and a Bachelor's degree from Sejong University, where she graduated with honors, received multiple scholarships, and served as principal cellist. She has also served as principal cellist of the Chicago Summer Orchestra.
As an educator, Kim has taught cello and orchestra across a range of settings, including positions as
an instructor with the Seocho Cultural Foundation and as a strings educator in elementary and middle schools in the Seoul and Gyeonggi region. Her teaching focuses on building strong fundamentals while guiding students to develop thoughtful practice habits and expressive musicianship.
Her artistry has been recognized through grants from the Gyeonggi, Suwon, and Hwaseong Cultural Foundations, and she has appeared as a soloist and chamber musician across a variety of performance settings.
